8/30 class exercise with Adobe Illustrator using only black circles (black fill, no stroke only). I haven't counted the number of circles I used, but there should be around 100.

Part 1: Laptop Computers vs. Desktop Computers
Laptops
- Also known as notebooks
- Portable
- Light weight, mostly under 5-6 lbs.
- Already has the monitor, keyboard, and mouse built in
Desktops
- Sit on or next to workstation
- Not designed to be portable
- More upgradable than notebooks
- Needs monitor, mouse and keyboard
Overall, more money is spent on notebooks for the same amount of power as a desktop.
Part 2: 5 Things that work in all application
- File menu
-open a document, create new document, print a document, save document, close (closes the document), and exit or quit the application - Edit menu: copy, cut, paste
-moves selected text from one place to another
- Undo & redo (or repeat)
-usually found under the Edit menu
-steps forward or backward to changes made in the document - Preference settings
- not found in the same place in every application
- on the Mac, preferences are found under the application's name in the menu bar
- sometimes preferences can be found under tools or a gear icon
- Help menu
-this is where the user can find an instruction manual, tutorials, software updates and the version that is currently installed
